How to Clean Up Your Initial "MyPoly" Screen

For many of your courses, the initial screen on MyPoly may show multiple entries for one course. For example, EG1004 Section A2 will probably show up as 3 sections, with names like A2LB, A2LC, and A2RC (for Lab, Lecture, and Recitation, respectively). Of these multiple sections, one is the "primary" section and the others are subordinate to it. As a result, it is important to use the proper section for submitting work to things like the Digital Drop Box, and it would usually be helpful to have the "chaff" of sections you don't need to see removed from the screen.

Fortunately, this is easy to do. When the initial screen appears, your list of courses is usually in the top right corner of the screen. At the top is the blue "My Courses" bar, with two icons on the right side. The first icon is a dash, and minimizes the list, the same way that a window would be minimized. The second icon looks like a pencil eraser. If you "hover" the mouse over this icon, a small popup appears, with a caption of "edit the My Courses module". Click this icon. This will bring up a new window called "Customize My Courses" with three sections. Section 1 is called "Modify Courses List", and is followed by all the courses that show on the initial MyPoly screen. Immediately behind the section titles, you'll see a column titled "Display Course", with a line of check boxes below it. Probably all the boxes are checked, so all these courses are displayed. Uncheck the boxes for the things you don't want to see, and click "Submit". The initial screen will appear, but be MUCH easier to use.
