Research 2-3 buildings in the immediate vicinity of the Jacobs Academic Building in Downtown Brooklyn. These can be NYU-affiliated buildings, but they don't have to be. Consider their size, materials used, amenities, use of public and/or green space, as well as architectural style (and, if you can find it, cost estimates for said buildings. You may not be able to find these and that's okay).

Use your first team writing assignment. Take the two to three comparable products (or, do additional research to find some) on the market today that are similar to your own. Collect the following information about each product:

  • Price
  • Materials
  • Availability

Then, write two to three brief paragraphs comparing each one to the current pricing, materials, and availability you anticipate for your own product. Finally, write one more paragraph explaining why your product will be an improvement upon, or a better alternative to, the designs you've found and analyzed.

Research 2-3 buildings in the immediate vicinity of the Jacobs Administration Building in Downtown Brooklyn. These can be NYU-affiliated buildings, but they don't have to be. Consider their size, materials used, amenities, use of public and/or green space, as well as architectural style (and, if you can find it, cost estimates for said buildings. You may not be able to find these and that's okay).

Write two to three paragraphs detailing the following:

  • How will the building you are proposing relate to the pre-existing ones that surround it?
  • What specifically have you learned from these buildings, and how do you plan to implement what you've learned into your design?
  • What factors will you need to keep in mind when designing and constructing this kind of building for an urban campus (ex: security measures, green space, etc.)?
